Sylvia Kakyo is the Executive Director SAFE SCHOOLS UGANDA(SSU), a Ugandan based organization that creates a favourable and protective legal environment for girl/boy child through education so as to accelerate reduction of early marriages and all forms of child abuse.

Through SSU and its partners , Sylvia mentors and provides access to education for both girls/boys with the intent to develop them into change makers who will contribute positively to their communities.

She’s the UN Global Youth Ambassador(GYA) for A world at School and 2016 Africa  Youth Award winner for the Advocate of the year as well as an East African Acumen Fellow 2017. Sylvia is also the participant Engagement committee chair for Young African Leaders Initiative Regional Leadership Center for Uganda chapter (YALI RLC) an Initiative of the former U.S. President Barrack Obama.

Sylvia is aboard member of  WELLSPRING FINANCE LTD and the First Ugandan Youth to represent  500 GYA of A world at School a cross the world at the 72nd United Nations General Assembly in New York City at the United Nations headquarters United States of America.

Sylvia is a Lawyer by Profession and Passionate about Human Rights and Child Education.

In 2017 Africa Youth Awards named her among the 100 Most Influential Young Africans, an initiative instituted to promote African youth movements and achieving and also restoring excellence in the works of young people across Africa.
