Her humble beginnings of her education was in the Calabar, had she started her primary education and later her father due to his nature of his job was transferred to Lagos state. She continued her education at the Nigerian Navy Primary school. After her primary education she enrolled in the River state Secondary school where she had her secondary school education, she always put in much efforts in her education just like in her acting career.

There are many famous Nollywood actresses in Nigeria but this gorgeous and beautiful actress, Mercy is said to be an outstanding Nollywood actress. She worked her way from bottom to the top of her success. She became renowned in the year 2004 when she played a role in a movie called “The Maid”; this movie eventually launched her into stardom. She gave an outstanding performance in this movie and this made her to gain many other opportunities to play more roles in other movies such as Baby Oku in America, Hustlers and War in the Palace, just to name a few of movies this gifted actress has played a role in. One notable fact about her acting career is that before she played a role in the film called “The Maid”, Mercy Johnson had never had any sort of acting training, this goes to show how gifted she is to be able to play a role of an infatuated house help in a movie without obtaining any training.

She is happily married to Prince Okojie, from Uromi in Edo state, they got married in the year 2011. They have three children together, two girls and one boy and their names are Purity Ozioma Okojie b, Henry Ozomia Okojie and Angel Onosetale Okojie and they were all born in Maryland, United States of America. This beautiful couple is sharing a great romantic experience together and holds each other in high esteem.

In 2017 Africa Youth Awards named her among the 100 Most Influential Young Africans, an initiative instituted to promote African youth movements and achieving and also restoring excellence in the works of young people across Africa.
